OCALI Devices

PURPOSE: To give educators, therapists, and parents access to a variety of devices which may be used for supervised evaluation of students, diagnostic trials, or inservice. Supervision may include direct contact or consultation with qualified, trained borrowers. Evaluation may occur in all environments, including but not limited to school, SST, home, or other facility involved with the student. OCALI will determine and monitor the appropriate use of the devices.

OCALI Loan Guidelines for Devices

• Devices will be loaned to the person designated responsible for the device(s).
• The designated person is responsible for each device borrowed.
• Devices may be used only when the evaluation, diagnostic trial, or consultation session is provided at no cost to the parent, school district, or SST.
• Devices will be scheduled on a first come-first served basis. OCALI will confirm all requests in writing. Schedule devices online through OCALI Library 4 Universal.
• Each device will be sent and picked up via United Parcel Service (UPS). OCALI will pay the UPS costs and arrange UPS service. The device(s) will be sent from OCALI via UPS on the day arranged. Please allow several days for delivery. The device(s) will be picked up by UPS on the arranged day. UPS will be notified with a call tag issued by OCALI to pick up the device(s).
• The device(s) must be delivered or returned via UPS on the arranged dates to ensure adequate time to prepare the device(s) for the next loan period.
