OCALI is pleased to host the Virtual Early Childhood Transition Summit Series. This series of three 90-minute sessions is a collaborative space where educators, service providers, and agency representatives can come together to learn from one another while deepening their understanding of the systems and roles that support young children and their families. Participants will share information and strategies that build connections to ensure smooth, successful transitions in early childhood.

  • Early Intervention Administrators and Service Coordinators
  • Local Education Agencies (LEAs), including Early Childhood Educators, Supervisors, Providers, and State Support Teams (SSTs)
  • Head Start Personnel
  • Family & Children First Council Representatives

  • Professionals Supporting Families with Transition

Participants will be able to:

  • Make the Interagency Agreement (IAA) dynamic and collaborative
  • Share language/terminology to ensure we are all understanding one another
  • Explain eligibility differences between Parts B and C
  • Share community resources outside of Part B Special Education
  • Improve Collaboration and Teaming among all involved agencies
  • Build accurate and informed perspectives about others’ roles and contributions

Presenter:

Angie Chapple, M.Ed. OCALI Early Childhood Transition Specialist

Angie Chapple, OCALI Early Childhood Transition Specialist, has been in the disability services field for over 35 years. She recently retired from the State Support Team 3 as a special education consultant and prior to that she was a special educator and supervisor for the Cleveland Municipal School District. Angie has taught all ages and grades from preschool through high school and is an adjunct professor at Case Western Reserve University. She is also a Charting the Life Course Ambassador and is on the Board of the Supported Decision-Making Network of Ohio.

Earn Credit

Pending approval, participants can earn 1.5 Ohio Approved credits from OCCRRA, and 1.5 CPDUs from DODD for EI Service Coordinators and Developmental Specialists per session. A certification of attendance will be provided for those needing contact hours.
