Tiered Activity Plan
Exploring the World Through Maps
Mapping skills are an essential life skill that help us navigate, quite literally, our local communities, our state, the United States, and our world. Students will begin with locating where we live on a globe (our planet), and from there narrow the view to our state, town/county, and finally their home address. Students will develop skills in determining land from water, reading map keys using symbols, reading cardinal directions, and using alpha-numeric gridlines and map scales to locate specific places. Join in the fun for our very own GPS adventure!
