Reminder/Cue Cards
Create Reminder/Cue cards to help teach and remind individuals how to engage in positive behaviors. These cards provide 'what to do' when an individual is feeling anxious, stressed, or confused. They also support interactions with peers, and offer ways to self-regulate, and manage emotions. Reminder/Cue cards typically provide up to 6 statements on how to engage in positive behaviors. The cards should be portable and can vary in size from an index card, post-it note, or a half sheet of paper. They can be used in the home, school, work, and in the community. Reminder/Cue cards can help remember 'what to do' after the skills/behaviors have been taught. They are then placed where the individual can see them (e.g., the bus, car seat, grocery cart, desk/table, playground, job site, etc.)
