Rocks and Minerals Unit

The documents provide in this sample unit-plan include a Unit Overview, containing all of the standards covered in the multi-grade, multi-week unit plan; Tiered Activity Plans, that outline steps within activities aligned smaller groups of learning standards; and materials including vocabulary/communication supports, assessment examples and interactive student learning materials. These sample units were designed for a variety of grade bands and contain both general and extended standards.

Tiered Activity Plans are designed to teach and assess grade band standards over multiple weeks of instruction.

Learning progressions (LP‘s) are provided for each unit which include grade level standards, Ohio‘s Learning Standards - Extended (OLS-E), and foundation base skills to ensure that every student can find successful entry points into grade-level learning opportunities.
